Throughout the whole of my life I have had the fortune or misfortune to witness the birth of a whole variety of political movements and the like. Indeed it seems to have become part of the British Psyche to have grown these aspiring organisations on quite a regular basis if only to relieve boredom!

Even if we only go back as far as the Wigs & Tories there have been an absolute multitude of political parties created since that time.

People broke away from the Labour Party in 1981 to form the Social Democrats Party hoping to wrest control of the Country from the ranks of Labour or Conservative but it failed miserably. The Liberals on the other hand were slowly building their strength but had no hope of being elected as the government.

Seven years later the two parties came together to form the Lib-Dems and went on to become a serious player in the coalition of 2010 – 2015 with Cameron’s Conservatives. The Lib-Dems achieved much under the leadership of Nick Clegg who was the deputy PM for the 5 year term, indeed this was far greater than the Lib-Lab pact of !977-1978 which was an absolute disaster for the country.

It is the personal belief of the writer that the electorate was most unfairly ungrateful for the Lib-Dems contribution to the coalition which spared the country from an extreme Conservative government who would not have spared the rod at all and a far-left, spendthrift Labour party who had sold off all the silver (and particularly the gold) like a drunk on a death sentence living his last days out in a bar.

The moderating effects on the Tories were generally rational and well thought out and indeed brought a little humility to the once great Tory Party who unrestrained would have robbed the poor to pay the rich*.

I say this as a lifelong Tory who has never voted for any other party*

In the most recent of years we have seen the birth of a far-left Scottish Nationalist Party and the Far-Right UKIP party, the latter appearing to have been built on the ashes of the BNP – British Nationalist Party. There are others of course but they have a very small following like RESPECT formed by a close friend of Saddam Hussain and others of even less significance.

The EU in/out referendum has created another collection of people but not yet a party and this group are allied to a slogan which is “BREXIT”. It seems to stand for far more than an ideal because its followers are excessively vocal and violent in the delivery of its message. They are completely intolerant of any point of view other than their own and one only has to visit some of the discussion groups online to witness this! These people write quite appalling and abusive messages in the hope of bullying anyone on site to follow them. In short many of these people are nothing more than thugs.

The writer has tried conversing with these ‘people’ but they are in the main not interested in a reasoned debate. It is their view you must agree to and nothing else.

Today I watched what was meant to be a debate and discussion between two groups of people “Remain followers” and “Leave Followers” with a third group of people who were undecided sat in between the two groups. The programme was run by Victoria Derbyshire of the BBC.

Constantly members of the Leave group had to be told by Victoria to stop shouting. These are the Brexiters and could have been some of those I have seen operating in the same manner online! Even the two female Tory MP’s on that side found it necessary to be aggressive when they spoke.

This so-called debate was eventually brought to an end and the 45 members of the group who had said they were undecided were asked if any of them had changed their minds. At this point around seven of them declared that they had and condemned the Brexit Group for their conduct. These seven people then joined the Remain group saying that they would certainly not be voting to leave.

Also one man who had been sitting with the Brexiters got up and left their camp and joined the Remain camp. He too was disgusted by the Brexiters conduct.

It is clear that there are  people with genuine concerns about the EU but sadly all too many of those who are campaigning to leave are either so rich that their personal lives will not be in any way affected like Batty Boris, Slimy Gove and Farage the barrage balloon (windbag), or simply do not care what damage they do to their country for the joy of putting it up the French, the German leader Merkel  and anyone  who is not just foreign but has the gall in their view to be European.

I have listened to one lie after another coming out of the right wing of the Tory Party including how many times they can spend 350 million a week and on how many different things. Gove and Johnson are profound liars and for me the Governor of the Bank of England, The IMF and all the dozens of economic wizards know far more than Johnson and Gove could ever learn in a million years.

As has been said the Remain camp may be culpable of overplaying the fear factor but the other side of guilty of a menu of lies and deceit.

Like lemmings their followers are being lead blindly over the cliff or precipice to destruction of our country and total isolation apart from the newly forming Soviet Union which will be keeping a most enthusiastic eye on events.

The Brexit group are now ahead in the polls because they are playing the racist card and ducking any questions on just how they propose to make the economy work!

To sum things up: - I can tolerate UKIP although I do not agree with them but BREXIT is something extremely nasty. It is as nasty as HIV.

For me “BREXIT” = “British Racist, Empire-loving, Xenophobic and Illiterate Thugs.”

Thank you for your opinion. However, the UK is far from being oppressed by the EU. We are one of the leaders not followers.

This proposal is in my opinion a clear breach of EU law.
