Good morning Colleagues
TWITTER - modernising and moving forward
I have much pleasure
in advising that, yesterday, the British Embassies in Paris, Berlin and Rome all tweeted out a request from The Electoral Commission to remind people that the final date to be able to register for the forthcoming European Elections is getting closer. I
have also had confirmation that several other British Embassies in Europe also tweeted out.
If you are an active Twitter user please tweet the following message from the Electoral Commission; http://bit/ly/17gXQk3 to your own followers.
The Electoral Commission Twitter address is; @ElectoralCommUK,The Votes for Expat Brits campaign Twitter address is; @Voting_Rights and my own Twitter address is; @grahamrichards6 where we can all followed
Moving forward it is absolutely essential, and a matter of priority, that we use every means of communication available to us and not to just rely on
standard e: mails, especially as an estimated 30%/35% of retired expats are not on line and we most certainly need to be more pro active and make contact with and encourage younger professional working expats as they most certainly represent a very large pool
of very important expat resources and they all use social media. The figure of 30%/35% concerns me very much as what efforts, if any, are being made to find and trace these people and to get them up to speed with what is going on and to forward them regular
Lastly, as always, please do not forget to forward this mail to friends/colleagues/family/social
